The next OPCSG Open Meeting at Oxford Golf Club will be on Monday, 16 November 2026 at 7.00 p.m. (Tea and coffee available from about 6.30 p.m.). The speaker will be Dr Luke Solomons, Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist/Honorary Senior Lecturer in Psychological Medicine/Psycho-Oncology at the Oxford Psychological Medicine Centre, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Solomons and his team are based at the Churchill.  By working closely with clinicians delivering care, the Psycho-Oncology service is intended to be proactive in identifying patients who outwardly appear to be struggling significantly with one or more aspects of their (prostate) cancer diagnosis, in order for them to be assessed and offered targeted and appropriate mental health support.

The working title of his talk is The Interaction Between Physical and Mental Health in Men Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.  it promises to be a very useful and informative evening.
