David Beesley

At the AGM in March 2015 Dave was unanimously elected as the first Honorary President of OPCSG.

Dave Beesley was Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer after a PSA Blood test. Although Dave did not have any symptoms, his PSA rose from 5.2 to 10.1 in an 8 month period. After Biopsies and a full body scan the results showed he had Gleeson scale 7 with the cancer spreading outside the Prostate which ruled out any option of surgery. Dave was told this news by Rose Southby at the Churchill Hospital on May 19th 2011 and since that time Dave joined the OPCSG in June 2011 as a Committee Member and Chairman. He completed his 37 days of radiotherapy on the 29th November 2011. In May 2013 he was told that his prostate cancer was undetectable and to stop the Zolidex female hormones for the foreseeable future. Dave was a driving force in the first successful years of OPCSG and now serves as President.
