SPECIAL EVENT - THAMES CRUISE ON A STEAMER

The OPCSG summer event has now been finalised, and all members, partners, friends and guests are cordially invited to join our Salters Steamers cruise down the Thames. 

Date: Thursday 4 July, sailing at 2.30pm and returning at approx. 5.30pm. 

Embarkation: Salters Boatyard at Donnington Bridge, Oxford, where free parking is available - see below for directions. 

Price: £12 per person, including cream scones, with tea or coffee. Under 15s pay £10, Under 5s free. 

Places are limited to 60 and booking priority will be given to members of the group. 

Facilities: A pay bar will be available, and a jazz band will play. To book your place please contact George Goldsmith on secopcsg@btinternet.com or 01235 763486. Oxford (Donnington Bridge) 

Salters' boats depart from the Salters slipway on Meadow Lane (nearest postcode is OX4 4BL). Approach the city centre from the south past Redbridge Park and Ride and at the traffic lights (with the Fox and Hounds pub on the corner) turn right down Weirs Lane. After going over Donnington Bridge take the first right down Meadow Lane and Salters slipway is the second drive on the right hand side (where free parking is available).

Dr. Martin Christlieb, Public Engagement Manager, Department of Oncology, University of Oxford, will speak about the fundamental nature of cancers - more details to follow. Meet at the Oxford Golf Club at 6.30 p.m. 

Group Meeting - Tuesday 27th August 

Heather Shute of Medical Detection Dogs will speak about the work of dogs trained in the detection of cancer. She will bring her dog Edward. Seewww.medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk. Meet at the Oxford Golf Club at 6.30 p.m.
